The only way we identify visitors to our site is if they choose to specifically identify themselves to us. This means we only collect personal information about you if you choose to disclose it to us (for example, when you sign up for our e-newsletter or request to receive more information about StayWell through our “Contact Us” form, you may choose to provide your name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, or information about your business). While we use recognized industry safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access or use, the sharing and storing of data online has inherent risks, so please take care to share only information that you believe is appropriate.
This Web site is not designed or intended to attract children, and we do not collect or maintain information from individuals who we actually know are under the age of 13 years.
How we use your information
We may use your non-personal information to help us compile general statistical data for site tracking purposes. Any other personal information is used solely to provide services you have requested or authorized. We also use the information you provide to respond to your questions, provide better functionality to you, to help us manage our Web site, and to comply with applicable law or valid legal process. We do not sell or share the information with any other entity for marketing purposes.
California “Shine the Light” Notice
StayWell does not share a user’s personal information with third party businesses for direct marketing purposes. Even though StayWell does not share a user’s information for direct marketing purposes, California’s “Shine the Light” law provides California residents with the right to confirm whether a company has shared your personal information with other companies. If you are a California resident and you provided your personal information to StayWell, then you may submit a written request for information about whether StayWell shared information with other companies for their use in direct marketing. If you would like to make a Shine the Light request, please send an email to email@example.com, with “Request for California Privacy” in the letter subject line. You must include sufficient detail for us to locate your information. Please note that the California “Shine the Light” law does not cover all information sharing.
A note about EU safe harbor privacy principles
For all Information received by StayWell from participants located in the European Union, StayWell adheres to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles issued by the U.S. Department of Commerce for compliance with the European Commission’s Directive on Data Protection (“Safe Harbor Principles”). StayWell has agreed to collect, process, and retain Information from participants in the European Union in accordance with the Safe Harbor Principles. In the event a complaint cannot be resolved through StayWell’s internal process, StayWell agrees to refer EU participant disputes to The Better Business Bureau’s EU Safe Harbor Dispute Resolution Procedure available online at http://www.bbb.org/us/european-dispute-resolution/consumer/. StayWell has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the US-EU Safe Harbor Principles to an independent dispute resolution mechanism, the BBB EU SAFE HARBOR, operated by the Council of Better Business Bureaus. Advertising and marketing
StayWell does not accept any advertising on our StayWell Online e-health portal, and StayWell does not receive income from marketing sponsors or advertisers. Any mention of a particular service is not an endorsement, but rather mentioned to ensure StayWell program participants will be aware of programs for which they are eligible.
