I had the privilege of giving the closing “What Have We Learned” session for the 2015 (25th Annual!) “Art and Science of Health Promotion Conference” in San Diego. I drew a word cloud to illustrate how the term “Well-being” was trending stronger than any other. Where “engagement” was the word a few years ago, and “culture of health” was trending strongly more recently, “well-being” now dominates and I asked the audience to consider how we know whether a term is trending or merely trendy?
